We have only had four four star PGs here since Kennedy has come aboard. Five if you count Caruso. Poor guy.

I'll keep saying it, development isn't a reality with Billy ball. Roll the ball out, when that doesn't work you go shopping for new options.

They must still be expecting another transfer to happen. And seem to be looking a lot to fill that 13th scholarship spot with a guard who can play immediately next season. That means graduate transfer or a JUCO.

Played 4 seasons at University of South Florida.

Had pretty decent freshman and sophomore seasons.

Missed most of his junior year due to a knee injury. Got a medical redshirt.

He is at least about a 75% career FT shooter. Good assist stats. High turnover rate though, turned the ball over more than either Caruso or A-Rob did last year.

I'm kind of 'meh' about it personally. He's almost certainly better than Avery Johnson Jr. but doesn't look like a guy who would really threaten A-Rob for minutes.

I liked him his first two years. I agree I'm not excited about him now.

We need better players than this guy in my opinion.

I'd take him. Pretty gritty vet. A-Rob needs to be pushed.

I don't get this. I'd understand bringing in a guy with 2-3 years of eligibility, but why would we bring in a PG with only one? We've got both Robinson and Caruso next season, so this guy doesn't seem to have much purpose.

I just can't get that jacked up about adding the starting PG off a team that went 9-23 in a mediocre basketball conference last season.

The talent of a guy like Artis was much more intriguing, though I get the issue(s) with the baggage there, either real or just from a PR standpoint.

I would have agreed with that before last year. Only thing I could say is that he found the 3 pt range for a few games before he went into his final 4 or 5 game swoon.

I love to keep games in the 45 point range. Mick Cronin fan.

Not thrilling stats, but not terrible either. Would push Arob for minutes. This guy is used to playing a bunch- I'd worry about locker room issues if they bring him in and try to use him as a role guy. But maybe he's a great guy.

Because you have 13 scholarships and you should make good use of all of them. Maybe he won't help at all. But maybe arob sprains his ankle and we have to make caruso play 38 minutes at the point or play aj jr, who probably won't be ready yet. IF a spot is opening up with another transfer, then of course you take another point guard. And much better to take a guy that will only be here one year than a reach on a guy that will use up a scholarship for years before he is ready to contribute.

If we have another transfer, then I'd rather add a 1 year player to get to 13-filled scholarships for next season than play next year with only 12 filled scholarships...the former is certainly better than the latter unless the guy you added for 12 months is some sort of insidious cancer who destroys your season.

Huh? Our defense was good. Our problem is that we couldn't score consistently.

It wasn't that good. Quote stats all you want. Wide open 3s all day. It wasn't as bad as he's making it sound.

Sure, taking him solely as some sort of insurance might benefit us, but I have my doubts that someone who can transfer anywhere he wants, but obviously wants to play basketball another year, would choose to be the 10-13 man on someone's roster. Maybe for scholastic reasons, but not for PT reasons if he gets the picture going in that he's a spare "unless".

If a team has an inside presence at all, the 3 point shot is very hard to defend for anyone. Our inside defense was more of an issue than our 3 point D. Green, Caruso and House with his height were better than average defenders against most teams. Inside, not so much. A Rob got better, not sure what Allen is going to ever provide us, so yea, very little depth there.

agree with txag72. You bring in a free agent that has played tons of minutes, he will expect the same here. If we can't offer that, even the best of kids might turn into a locker room issue down the line.
