Are there any plans or rumblings about renovation reed arena? Like adding suites, ribbon boards, etc.??

No, and there are a lot of projects ahead of a potential Reed renovation. I would expect nothing to happen to Reed for about 10-12 years.

The projects ahead of Reed, in order, as of now:

Kyle Field (obviously)
Outdoor Track & Field
Softball
Indoor Tennis Facility
Reed Arena

Facilities that have been upgraded recently:

Olsen Field
Ellis Field (soccer)
Equestrian Facilities (in conjunction with the University and Equine studies)
Kyle Field (in progress)

Reed's a multi-use facility so I can't see them putting in suites that would significantly detract from utilization in non-sports events.

Especially true when you consider how many would likely be empty.

Need to renovate the outside of the building and the concourse area. Everything inside the building is fine.

The Cox-McFerrin center was finished around 2008. It included new practice facilities, locker room, weight room, and offices.

Reed isn't a dump, it just isn't a basketball-only facility.

Reed needs serious attention on the outside. It looks like it could be the utility plant for West Campus. Every time I see that thing the only word that comes to mind is "bland".

So Baylor's football program got TARP money ???

The Texas A&M athletics department isn't an investment firm.

Besides, having dropped/preparing to drop well over half a billion on football, baseball, and basketball in the past few years, I'm sure the AD can spare a little change for the poors.

(You may be surprised what a good track facility can do for your "exposure", btw)

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't believe Reed is an athletic department facility, unlike Kyle and Olsen. I'm pretty sure the athletic department is a renter from the university, but I could be wrong.

I'm pretty sure the athletic department took over the facility a few years back. A lot of AD offices are in that building now.

Maybe but offices there don't mean much. The parking garage across from G Rollie was a university building that housed a lot of AD offices.

Reed isn't a bad basketball venue, but it's far from great.
