Athletically we'll, run all over these guys-- I expect Donald to have a solid game.

This assessment is not based off of firsthand knowledge, but reading up on them after we the brackets were announced, they are a minimal mistake, high shot-percentage type of team...Duke toned down a notch (or 2 or 3).

We better bring the inside-out game plan and work on getting their lone big man in foul trouble. Passing around the perimeter for 28 seconds isn't going to get it done.

I am nervous too:

Smart, mature kids that play fundamental ball... I'm guessing the team is a little older too(since many likley took two years off to do a mission).

any team scares me with the low scoring halves we have been known to suddenly have (10 points). We are too inconsistent with our shooting to make it past UCLA.

I'm more concerned with how WE plan than WHO we play. Which is bad.

Hopefully Kirk and Muhlbach will keep it up. If they're as good as they have been lately, we should be pretty safe.

If we play hard then we should be fine, our defense should be good against them since they don't have KU/UT quickness to worry about

Focus will be key in this game. BYU plays with focus. If our focus is on UCLA and not BYU we will lose this game.

It SHOULD be "Nervous...A&M is exactly the kind of team that scares BYU".

The easiest way to win this game is to kill them in the paint, get all the boards, and tough defense. Never give them a chance to begin with.

This will be tough to do, BYU is a VERY good rebounding team. They are in the top 10 in the country of getting offensive boards.

We should be concerned about teams that can put a lot of pressure on our guards. Teams that get in passing lanes and focus on getting pressure on the ball handler do well against us. We have a tendency to turn the ball over a lot when teams do this to us. From what I understand, BYU doesn't do a lot of that. I'm quite comfortable with the match up from that standpoint.

We actually have a better shooting percentage than BYU. They make a lot of 3's, but, we've done well stopping the 3 pointers throughout the season.

I've read that the BYU guards can sometimes be defensive liabilities. That's very encouraging, as, our biggest problem, imo, is not having the ability to handle good defenders in the backcourt.

Don't get me wrong, their team is capable of playing stellar defense (they have a pretty darn good defensive ranking), but, from what I understand, their backcourt isn't the best defensive part of their team.

We should be nervous against anyone who is a lower seed. Although, I expect we may be favored.

Then we must be a minimal mistake team also. BYU averaged 14.3 turnovers a game. A&M averaged bout 12.8.

I wish more people would go look at actual stats and not read trumped up "scouting reports" about BYU.
