we must have really pounded Bilas hard with e-mails, etc after the ESPN Chat he had the other day... we went from 12th to unranked on his ballot.

Seriously ... who cares. It has no bearing on anything.

The media conspiracy schtick is getting old ... actually ancient.

Are you joking that Louisville got #16 with 6 losses and A&M gets snubbed two weeks in a row at 17. This is ridiculous. Also A&M beats down UT and they still go up in the rankings last week? Explain that logic.

We have ONE quality win.
ONE.

That's why ... and it doesn't mean anything anyway.

Move on.

Doug Gottlieb has us at #11

It doesn't mean anything, but good national press, like being ranked in the stupid ESPN Power 16, is good for the program and good for recruiting.

It's hard to argue that we should be higher given our sole quality win. Our time will come and come soon if we keep playing like we have been. Patience grasshopper (if this crap really matters to you)

I'm not concerned about us being near the top of things eventually this year, I was just making a point.

I disagree, we are 4-3 against the RPI top 50 (in comparison, Butler is 1-0 and Wisconsin is 3-4). I would say that all of these wins are quality. Now, if you had said we have one elite level win, I would agree.

Who cares?! Last I checked the Power 16 doesn't dictate where you finish in the tourney. Just win and the rest takes care of itself. You have to earn respect to get it, and I think our boys are well on their way to doing so.

ONE quality win ...
indisputable

we've played 4 ranked teams (AZ, tu, Baylor, KSt)
we've lost 3 of the 4

Who cares guys? We are right on the fringe of 16.. that's right where we should be. We beat a rival on our court in an emotionally charged game, that's not the biggest win of the year in the NCAA.

Texas has beaten UCLA, St. Mary's, Tennessee, and Kansas. Right now, their accomplishments completely, 100% are better than ours. It's not even a competition. They are a 2 seed, and we are a 5-6 seed.

I know we appear to have turned it around, but being on the fringe of the power 16 isn't disrespect. Quit b****ing and moaning and recognize that we aren't the number 1 team in the country.

Again, thank you everyone. But:

1. I know these don't mean sh*t, but it sure would be nice to be noticed.

2. I know we need to just win and everything will take care of itself, but it sure would be nice to be noticed.

3. Being under the radar can be a good thing, especially if it means sneaking up on some top ranked teams, but it sure would be nice to be noticed.

4. Media conspiracy discussion IS getting old, but they appear to do nothing but perpetuate the perception by continuously ignoring us. A conspiracy is getting bad press - where wins are luck and losses are highlighted. For the exception of the sports ticker scrolling on the bottom of the screen, ESPN has not mentioned the words "Texas" and "A&M" in succession or reported on a single win since we beat t.u., so it sure would be nice to be noticed.

They did notice, we are #17 on their poll. I think that's 100% reasonable.

See #1, we lost 3 times in a row, and two of the three were blow outs. That loses A LOT of respect in the eyes of the media for anyone, not just A&M.

I wouldn't say being the #16 team in the country in both polls, and #17 in the power 16 poll is under the radar in any capacity. It's actually a bullseye on our back, we aren't sneaking up on anyone.

Our wins, while solid Big 12 wins, haven't been huge, national stories, when doing their quick recaps, they've mentioned us, but nothing we've done merits the attention of a game like when Texas beat Kansas.

It just figures into A&M's not to distant past of horrible basketball. I know that last 3 years were different, but East Coast biast ESPN does not remember that. All they see is big Coach at Louisville and that's all it takes. If we keep winning, the next 3 to be specific, we should be upwards of 11 or 12 in this ranking. If not.

SCREW THEM!!!! BTHO them!!!

kinda says it all doesnt it? you guys played 15 of your first 17 games at home. excuse the rest of the country while they arent impressed with that. you have chances to take us, kansas, and possibly another biggy in the tourney, and youre practically a lock for the dance, and thats all that matters

Screwed? Because we are ranked 17th in the country by some meaningless poll? Huh, it's amazing how fast a group of fans can develop an sense of entitlement...

Being from Clemson, I understand how ESPN's bias towards certain teams can get annoying, but yall aren't being disrespected in this case. Everytime I've seen y'all have a chance to prove yourselves against a quality opponent(except against UT recently) you've lost. A few of those times it wasn't close if I remember correctly. If the polls had you at 10 and the power rankings didn't, then you've got a problem. Its not like the refs gave the other team 36 foul shots and your team 7, calm down.

Again, not indisputable, in the world of college basketball, a win against a team in the top-50 of the RPI is considered "quality," as most bracketologists, etc., take special note of a team's performance in that category when seeding teams. If the college basketball world did not think such wins were quality, then the most referenced category would be RPI top 25.

Like I said, we have one elite level win, but four "quality" wins.

Let's just win Saturday and Monday and see what happens next week. Something tells me we can't get snubbed 3 weeks in a row if we can push through this next week.

Not true at all. Texas went from 12th to 17th in the power rankings after the loss to A&M. After that, they beat Baylor and OU and got back in the rankings. In this last week, they rose some more with a win against KU.

The voters look at a lot more than just a Texas vs. Texas A&M game almost three weeks ago. And the world is not out to get you.
