to come here and get back on the Big 12 championship bandwagon. There is plenty of room. Aren't we all glad that a majority of posters were wrong with the less than 2% chance that KSU or KU could stumble and give us a chance were wrong? One more KSU loss (I'll go ahead and give them one at KU) and we can control our destiny.

I will even go so far as to invite Angry back on without too much crap from me.

The opportunity has been put in front of us, let's take care of business and get a title. Just win baby.

But at least there's a chance. If I would have told you after the Baylor loss that we would have a chance to win the Big 12, be it a small chance, would you have believed me? It's good to be back in the race.

Angry is a loyal season ticket holder and a great Aggie fan.

He's never been off the bandwagon.

Thats awesome. Congrats. He argues everything about not having a chance in hell when it came to the Big 12 Championship the other night and why on Earth would we want Texas to win. He couldn't envision KSU possibly losing to anyone other than KU.

I'm simply giving him a chance to come back to this bandwagon.

I am still unconvinced.

We would have to finish the season on a 12-0 run.

I don't think we will play bad, but we are not so vastly superior to our competition to pick up all the necessary w's.

Texas in Austin and KU are the two I have a hard time with.

Even if we outplay the sips, their refs will screw us and KU, although weak in the paint, is very athletic.

We dominated tu last time (yes I know it was at home but it's not like it was competitive) and we get KU at home. It's not some fantasy.

one more loss by ksu would not let us control our own destiny. We would lose the head to head battle to them if we both finished 13-3. We need them to lose two more games if I am not mistaken.

Somewhere on this forum there is a post going into agonizing detail regarding tie-breakers in Big XII Basketball.

Rather than recite it word for word, here's the skinny.

Regular season champs - if 5 teams have the same record, there are 5 champions. No tie break.

For the tourney seeding - Divisional ties broken first, so if KSU and KU split head-to-head then their divisional record becomes the tie-breaker. KU has north top seed.

In the South, Ags beat t.u. on head-to-head (since we'd need to win out for this to even be considered). Then Ags beat KU on head-to-head. Ags get #1 seed in tourney.

So, NO, KSU does NOT need to lose one more conference game for us to win take the top seed and share the conference title.

This is all great & good, but I'd trade a big XII regular season championship for a deep NCAA tourney run and a final four.

I'd also take both!

Botom line, BTHO okie lite & tu for now!

I agree 82. But as the posters on this forum have convinced me, seeding is everything. There have been a few iterations of bracketology over the past couple of weeks that have put us in some pretty hairy regions where a sweet 16 appearance would have taken some SERIOUS work (no tourney run is a cake walk).

So, I would rather have an elite 8 for final 4 appearance than a conference championship, but the higher we finish in the Big XII, the better are our chances are of being in a position, come tourney time, to get to the final 8 or 4.
