It's always nice to see the uneducated attempt to put everything into the point spread alone, in one game. Vandy is a good basketball team and they are thrashing KY as this is written. At AZ we blew a 20 pt lead to get beat by 11, a 31 point swing which is certainly in the neighborhood of what's happening right now.

It wasn't the point spread ... it was the look of confusion and being lost on MT's face that was the scary part of that AZ game. It was a look that was repeated in Lubbock.

Since that time MT has really made some serious changes in his overall management of this team. To his credit, he has dusted off the D that gave us the chance to be where we are. That takes some personal courage and soul searching given MT's obvious personal issue with being compared to BCG. But he did it anyway and this team and MT are both better for having done so.

It goes to the point that spreads can be deceiving. The tu team that played Kansas Monday night didn't look remotely like the team that we thrashed the prior week. Let's hope we keep up our intensity. We've got enough of our own issues without having to worry about BCG's. It's bad karma to relish in the failure of others, particularly a coach who literally rescued this program from the Big12 dumpster.

And, FWIW, Kentucky is not a deep team.

Shoot Vandy extended the lead in the second half with the walk on football player lightening them up and out scoring UK which kept their starters in the whole game.

It was a record raping point and simple, don't in anyway compare it to what happened the Ags in Zona.

UK isn't deep but they have three more McDonalds all American's then we have and I can assure you that UK team had over all more talent in weaker conference then what BCG inheritied here.

Look I appreciate what Gillispie did here but you know I don't have to support him now. He made his choice and some of his wrinkles are going to get exposed and he does have weaknesses.

I've NEVER banged the pot about MT. I questioned some things he did (or didn't do) which he richly deserved after the AZ and tech games. I've also heaped a lot of praise on him (including tonight) for making some key changes of late. NEVER once have I even suggested that he should move on.

Not all HS studs are college studs, despite press releases and hype and MickeyD labels. Not all AllAmericans become NBA studs.

You earn your stripes on the court. Nobody spots you jacksh*t for what you did in HS or what somebody said about you.

DJ's a pretty decent example of where hype has vastly exceeded performance. It's one of hundreds, if not thousands.

Watkins? Surely you jest. In the 'Zona game and the tech game, he had that lost look like Watkins ALWAYS had, and still has. Watkins couldn't carry MT's jockstrap. You're grasping at straws.

AZ and CU along with other games exposed problems that were readily apparent to anyone.

to see those problems weren't addressed and were even worse vs. tech and then AGAIN vs KSU was a little shocking to say the least, especially considering the comments about not having talent, depth, which were lets just say "wrong."

again, its not about Ws and Ls. i've said before that i think our record would be VERY similar under bcg, but you wouldn't have a coach whining about having "little experience" with 2 3 year and 1 2 year starter. i also said i thought the best game we played in many facets was the baylor game, which we lost.

he made some adjustments and its going well, just wish he'd seen those problems earlier like most people. i don't think you'll know much about MT as a coach until year 3 or 4 to be honest. his only recruit so far has a weight problem and the talent/experience is up there with any team outside of KU.

like i said, a couple things shocked me about him and his comments tossing these guys under the bus really rubbed me the wrong way considering his own performance at the time. no need to trash the kids.

but lets make one thing clear, i haven't ever said "fire mt" or anything of the sort. quit jumping to conclusions if people have concerns that repeatedly show themselves. obviously there were problems as even MT said he had to wratchet up practice and make some changes. the resulting game vs baylor, you'll see i was one of only 2 or 3 posters commenting on how encouraged i was.
