seems to me that only scenario that has us taking 1st is winning out, and having ksu drop 2. Even then, depending what happens with everyone else we would still have to be tied with 1 or 2 possibly 3 other teams. i would hate to think of the tie breakers for the tournament seeding.

I at this point would be happy with a strong finish and getting to at least 2nd or 3rd and winning a big 12 tourney game or two

Head to Head only matters for Big 12 tourney seeding. If we have the same record we're co-champs regardless of head to head contests

correct me if im worng but we can tie k state and be co champs, they will jsut get the higher tourney seed because of the head to head

actually, in what is a crap rule, we would still share a big 12 title if we and KSU both had 3 wins - they would get the higher seed in the tourny

as long as we get a top 4 seed, i'm cool with whatever. of course we want the title, but the bye in the first round of the tourney will be key.

This is true. Actually I think K state could potentally drop three in a row. Look at their schedule and you will see where.

Since i was drastically proven wrong on tonights game i'm going to go ahead and join the group that wanted KU to lose so we could somehow get back into the title race.

We don't need KSU to drop 3. There is not tie breaker when determining Conference Champ.

Well, that is a pretty weak regular season conference championship, imho.

Remember the women last year, were Co-Champs. There is no tie breaker in college basketball.

The top teams (in case of a tie) get the trophy, but the head-to-head between the two gives them the No. 1 seed in the Big 12 Tourney.

I still think it would have been better for texas to lose. I don't see us ending up 1st, but we might be able to pass texas in the standings.

This would really help our NCAA seeding as the committee would have a hard time giving texas a 2 (which it seems predestined to do) and giving a team ahead of them a 5 or 6.

That is what is so great. We can still pass texas so it didn't matter if they won or lost. But Kansas losing was important to us.

t-cam is right, if we win on Monday then we pass tu, so the outcome of last night was good for us in the long run, assuming we can keep playing this well

As JJ explained so well in the other thread, even if KState only loses 2 more, we would likely still be seeded ahead of them in the tournament if we win out. This has to do with the order in which ties are broken. Check his explanation for more clarity.

I don't think there is anyway that K-State finishes with less that 3 losses. Games at Tech (would be a good coming out party for pat), at baylor, at Kansas, and tu at home.

could be a toss up at the end!
