I just spoke to a guy in my office who is a Baylor grad and told him good game against the Jayhawks on Saturday night.

He said ah man no one can win up in Kansas. I said well we did last year. He said Kansas was not as good last year as this year.

I took that as a back handed compliment that we were just lucky to win there last year because Kansas was not as good.

I think Kansas is as good this year as they were last year. They might have been better last year than this year because all they lost was Julian Wright.

So which Kansas team is better?

Not much different, slightly better this year. Not 35 points better, which is what Baylor gave them.

this year's KU team is better...mostly the same guys, but a year older, wiser and more experienced! no non conf upset at home like last year either.

Ags can still beat them at Reed, but we will have to play out of our mind and hit our free throws to have a chance at the end!

Last year's win at KU was close to a miracle the way things happened for us in the last few minutes, and of course Acie's unbelievable shot...again!

Seem to recall getting further than Texas A&M last year. Remind me the last time Ags have gotten past the S16?

Somebody is defensive tonight.

Not really, just we had two crap-outs of the NCAA, and everyone loves to talk about KU like we should win every year. Yeah, we are in consideration every year, but it's not like winning the tourney is an easy thing to do. We started 3 freshman and 2 sophs in 2006, and our 2005 team had problems, stemming from the differences between roy and bill.

I guess the point is that KU has under achieved in the NCAA tournament every year Self has been there...no one supposedly has more depth or talent than KU...whereas, the Ags have never really been expected to get past the Sweet 16...except maybe last year.

Two E8s? I'll take that. I gave you reasons for 05 and 06, last year we played a pretty much home game from UCLA, and our team was wore the hell out from SIU. 04, Self's first season taking us to the E8 is just fine for a 1st year coach. No one blinks for a second about if he is a good coach or not around here.
