I will honestly say that, unless Jordan improves dramatically on the offensive end in the next couple of years, picking Jordan at three (or anywhere in the top 15) will be a huge mistake.

I agree. He needs more seasoning at the college level, IMO.

But those big bucks talk loud!

they do, but they might send you to the rookie league or w/e its called. id rather be ready and on top of my game before going to the nba.

Seriously this is your advise? If someone is slated as a top 5 pick. They should go in the draft. Money is based on where you get drafted. He couldn't do much better than 3.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
If you are going to be the #3 pick you go no matter what you think about your game. Too much risk economically in coming back.

I don't know anything about the rest of that draft, but I'm stoked about Ajinca to the Mavs. Anytime you can add Franc to your roster, you do it.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Sure he has the potential to be a top 3 pick, but #3 after this season? That would be a huge gamble that he'll live up to that potential. That said, if I'm DJ, I'd be gone.
Palooza11
How long do you want to ignore this user?
man he will have a tough time adjusting in the pros if he decides to go. hell he can dunk and get blocks but lets be honest. he hasnt even adjusted to the college level fully, and he sometimes looks lost out there.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
The sooner he goes, the sooner he gets through his rookie contract, and the sooner he can negotiate a real lucrative deal. Of course, he will have to develop during this time, but it would be stupid to stay if he's going to get picked that high.

NBA folks (somewhat rightly) think they can develop a raw talent better than a college coach can. That's why they draft on potential.

J. Walter Weatherman
How long do you want to ignore this user?
how many legitimate 7 footers are there that can run the floor like him? that's why he's the number 3 pick right now. he's got all the talent in the world, he's just never had to use it so he's still learning. i'm thinking he's gone after this year. he wouldn't have even gone to school if it wasn't for the age limit.
YellAg2004
How long do you want to ignore this user?
The NBA drafts on POTENTIAL. This isn't the NFL where you draft on what the guy has already accomplished and how he developed in college.

He would be an absolute idiot to not go to the draft if he's projected at #3. That is serious money that you can't risk another season on. He may go into the NBADL or he may ride the pine as he develops, but he will be making serious bank the whole time.
Dallasag02
How long do you want to ignore this user?
It's a no brainer for him to go. He's a top five pick, draft stock doesn't get higher than that.

They'll develop him in the NBA, and we'll get a little pub for him having played here. I'm excited for the kid, and for our program. That's three high first round picks in four years. Pretty impressive given where we came from.

Edit: I just realized what I just said. The basketball program has turned out three first round picks since the football program last produced one. I never ever thought I would be able to say that.

If he gets drafted by Seattle he'll probably play right away and just get a ton of rebounds and put-backs from Durant's missed 3-pointers.

Who are their big men?

Palooza11
How long do you want to ignore this user?
i think its ridiculous how kids can leave for the draft after only one year in college, and it was worse before. you have a lot of hype for one player and hes only a one year deal. they should make it like football imo
Dallasag02
How long do you want to ignore this user?
No, they should have made it like baseball. Either you go pro straight out of high school, or you have to stay three years. That gives kids a legitimate option and ensures coaches that once they get a kid on campus he'll stay three years. Kids that make stupid decisions and sign with agents only to not be drafted should end up in the NBDL. The problem would fix itself.

Exactly. The people that say he should stay even though he's a top 5 pick are.... not well informed.

Augustine going at 22 is stupid. He will be a top 15 lock and possibly top 10.

And with Jordan. No matter how much I WANT him to stay, if I were him I wouldn't even think twice about leaving. Screw an education when you will be getting a guaranteed contract of three years around 3 million a year. Not to mention endorsements. If he wants to get an education after he will have plenty of money to do so. When he goes to the NBA he just needs to get a good financial advising firm to represent his money.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
He should definitely leave if he is a top 10 pick, but I'm surprised that they still have him at #3.

I see better players than him all over the place.

I realize that they draft on potential but it seems like his potential would take a hit after getting pushed around and out played by so many players.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
financially, it makes alot of sense to leave. I would leave my job for the NBA right now with that contract.
bilbobag
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Finacially, it will make alot of sense. However, he will be riding the bench and not have a chance to improve his game as quickly as if he were to stay at A&M another year. The kid needs work. His Free Throw shooting is improved and has better form.
dreyOO
How long do you want to ignore this user?
if he goes that high, then it's a nobrainer

at the same time, everyone knows he is not ready. he will get the darko treatment and be a developmental case for a season

If BD sticks around that's all I care about. He's outplayed Jordan all year.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yeah, that makes sense, college coaches are probably better at developing an NBA style game than are NBA coaches.
halfastros81
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Doesn't start at A&M but # 3 overall pick . Doesn't seem to make sense to me but what do I know? If that draft projection is worth a darn DJ will have to leave. I'm not convinced it's within 7 or 8 slots of being correct, high potential or not.
