Howdy, always on the hunt for new stuff to try. As a retired Old, got nothing better to do than mess around looking for something new and different (not women). Seeing the Moka pots on all the Italian TV deceive shows on Roku got to wondering about them. Know that the Food and Spirts clan has all kinds of knowledge and experiences, knew it was best to start here and not just dive in, Looking at the Bialetti pot, got any suggestions, comments, experiences?

How's the coffee?

I have a Bialetti stovetop model, and it makes excellent coffee. I would think their electric model would be great as well.
One tip: start with hot water; not hot water from the tap, cold water that you heat up first. This may seem unnecessary, but starting with hot water means the coffee in the chamber doesn't have a chance to heat up and risk burning it before the water hits it.

+1 on everything

I put my water in the microwave for 2 mins before pouring it into my Bialetti. Didn't realize there was an electric version however so I'll be tuning in

Howdy, after extensive research (Amazon reviews mostly) going with the IMUSA electric pot, going to get my coffee lady to grind the beans for this type coffee. Will let you know.

Howdy, Looks like I will NEVER learn about Chinese stuff. So the IMUSA Ele. Moka arrives, unpack, wash parts as directed, fill with filtered, bottled (HEB) water. Turn on and let it run through its cycle, let device cool. Started to make a pot to see how it tastes. Remove the filter and there is a big discolored mark, scrubbed with scratch proof sponge, could not budge it. Notice it is discolored on the exterior of the filter, then see it is discolored on the base plate of the carafe. If the materials of construction are this poor I am not going to drink coffee with its acid content out of it. Already have the return in to Amazon. Gotta stop with the Chinese stuff!!

I love our stovetop Bialetti. The first time I had moka pot coffee was at an agriturismo in Siena, and it reminds me of that trip every time I use it.

I recommended the Bialetti for a reason.

Most Amazon reviews are fake at this point.
