My 91 year old dad asked me to look up
and find a way to make it. It was a favorite food staple when he was a young boy. I made a 1/3rd of the following recipe.

1/2 lb. Hamburger Meat
2 limes
1/2 lb Longhorn Cheese
1 apple
1 tomato
1/2 green bell pepper
Stalk of Celery
1/2 lb Jalapeño's peppers
3/4 lbs Ham

I made it for him. The final result was much better than I thought it would be. I did put the lime juice into the raw hamburger as the first step to give the acid more time to cook the hamburger meat. The jalapeño's were not hot. Next time I will substitute 1/2 of jalapeño's for Serrano's.
Put all the items through a food processor and let it rest over night in the refrigerator.

Anyone have some knowledge of this and possibly able to give me a history lesson on who might of created the recipe. I am thinking Germans but not sure.

It was pretty tasty but there was no "Hot" to it. I will try again later.

Looks like a gussied up version of parisa. Texags was the first place I'd heard of it. Your dad hail from west of San Antonio?

Sounds similar to the Cowboy Burger patties at HEB.

From Del Rio….
Back in the early 90's the original Julio's chip place in Del Rio had it, and it wasn't quite like that.
Being in TexAgs jail changes a man……..no, not really

odd mix of ingredients for one area of tx to make, especially del rio.

Ingredients sound like Panhandle food. Pull whatever you have from the pantry and mix it together. Hated going to panhandle area with casseroles of mixed ingredients, and hamburger patties too.

Much like the parisa thread I was confused about the way people were talking about it, until you piece together that none of the steps were "heat in skillet".

I'm trying to picture how this is any different from eating a bowl of food poisoning...

The lime juice helps to cook the meat.
