Howdy,

I am looking for a good BBQ rub recipe to gift to family and friends for the holidays. I've got one simple Beef S+P rub, but also want a more traditional BBQ rub to pair with it.

Has anyone ever found a special recipe that you consistently go to? Any advice is appreciated!

There are so many good brands 9n the market that for me it is t even worth making my own, absent being in a pinch.

Chupacabra, Meat Church, Ragin Cajun...hell, go to HEB or Academy and you have 2 or 3 dozen options.

Absolutely, huge fan of all of those you just listed. Just want to do something hand-made for the holidays.

Watched a video from Mad Scientist BBQ on YouTube a while ago where he revealed that Lawry's was the secret ingredient all the Central Texas BBQers use. They all swear they use only salt and pepper but they also use Lawry's, too.

Edited to add video:

Yea I can believe it. That Rub was my German Grandfather's Rub. That's who I watched growing up and learned how to cook Central Texas German Style BBQ from. Lawry's was always the base of the Rub.

So you're suggesting he go Christmas shopping in the HEB spice section?

Killer Hogs for Pork and Chicken.
Fiesta Garlic Pepper.
Fiesta Season All.
Fiesta Uncle Chris's Steak.
And of course, a 50/50 S&P mix...
