You always find things you didn't know you needed at Costco but man these raw tortillas are a game changer.

I just heated a skillet (always pre heat) and used a minimal amount of butter. 20-30'seconds on each side. These are infinitely better than any store bought tortilla. And they save for about two months in the fridge.

Maybe I'm the last one to know.

HEB has some really good ones. Both flour and corn. Only way to go for corn... Their in house cooked flour is obviously better

Those look like the HEB ones

I accidently grabbed HEB butter tortillas last weekend. Mistake...it's so heavily butter flavored.

I've tried the similar ones at HEB and I was not a big fan for some reason. I will have to give these a try though

Yeah, they are great. IMO the ones in your second batch of pics look a little undercooked.

I've been eating these for years.

I like the HEB ones but I'll keep an eye out for the Costco ones I'm there next time for comparison.

curious if there is much of a difference between brands. My biggest takeaway was
fresh cooked right out the skillet tortilla > > > reheated cooked tortilla

costco ones (flour) are objectively better than the heb ones. which breaks my heart to say.

I like the HEB uncooked flour but they're uniform in size and shape where these are not so they appear to me to be better/more authentic.

I'll try them and hope they eat as good as they look! Thanks for the heads up!

The HEB ones are made with beef fat so maybe that's it. My palate is averse to CaNAdaOiLlowAcid so never been a big fan of the Costco ones either. They're certainly better than the shelf brands, but I've got better options for homemade flour including the HEB bakery tortillas

Those are the ones I use too. I think I remember wanting to try the ones from Costco but thinking they were too large for fajitas and tacos.

Best flour tortillas in Texas. And Michael is a great guy.

I think I've run across these before when someone mentioned them. Look great, but $19 (with shipping) for a dozen torts is kind of high. Wish I lived closer to go pick them up.

Order several dozen. The freeze very well. Or become a tortilla mule like I do for Pflugerville.

I did not know they made corn tortillas too. I'll have to try those out.

Corn tortillas are even easier to make at home than flour.
Corn masa (e.g. maseca), salt and water. Press into a disk and cook in a skillet.

He's a friend. (I don't get any discount or commission.) They are par cooked at the shop and need to be finished on a comal or cast iron...

Wait, I just upgraded my skillet. Now I need a comal? I didn't even know what a comal was until this thread . . .

Your cast iron or carbon steel pan will work fine. Same with any other kinds of tortillas

They also make a blue corn. I would certainly try the regular corn first. Some batches seem a little drier than others but even the worst bag has been far far better than your normal off the shelf corn.

The bakery tortillas are great for day-of. Like any good tortilla, they don't keep for sh*t. But the Costco ready bakes are good on-hand for all times.

Been using those for a while and they're fantastic.

Didn't know costco had them, will keep an eye out. I have been using the HEB raw tortillas for years - absolutely love them.

Can't remember the last time I had a regular store bought cooked tortilla, and that's a good thing. Either the raw ones or home made ones for me these days.

I need to see if they have these at my midwestern costco. I love fresh tortillas but I'm the only one in the house that appreciates them. These will be a game changer for me if they have them. I can make them but rarely do.
