I can see why a temperature controlled wall section like that would cost as much. I would think you could do a wine "room" along the small section of a wall, and using more depth, and get it done for much cheaper.

Yeah. I'm ignorant of these as I don't have one nor researched them much. Bit Id imagine the glass and cooling unit, ductwork, etc alone will be higher than your original unit.

As cool as that would look, it's going to be a highly inefficient cooling system with all of that glass and they way the wine bottles would be organized.

Although "not anywhere as cool looking", without a dedicated room - your best bet is probably a couple of the newer wine cellars that give you the same "presentation" look, but work much better. Here are some of the new (not cheap) Eurocave cellars with presentation at the forefront: Eurocave I've had two Eurocave coolers for 15 years and even after two moves, they have never had any issues at all (knocking on wood).

I'm looking to do a glass temp controlled wine storage closet/space in the corner of my dining room. It won't be that large, hold probably 100 easily, which is what I want. And my little project will probably cost $15k to have the space done right.
