Worth the coin?

Also, can you hold espresso and coffee beans at the same time, so if you have a coffee drinker and espresso drinker in the house you don't have to constantly swap beans out?

Buddy of mine has one and likes it, but I dont have any first hand experience.

No idea if the unit has separate bean hoppers, but beans used for making an espresso can be the same roast as your regular coffee beans unless you really just prefer the super dark "espresso" roast for your espresso beverage.

I've had one for almost 3 years now since we moved into our new place- the CVA 6800. I ****ing LOVE it. It's by far my favorite appliance I've ever owned. There's many ways to adjust the size of grind and amount of water used, and even how long the grind soaks for before dispensing.

That being said, don't break your budget getting one

Regarding the beans- you cannot hold two different types of beans at the same time- there's only one hopper for the beans. There is a separate chute for ground coffee, but I've never used it. I'll say this though, and this will probably draw some ire from folks here but oh well- I think using the same beans to make both regular coffee and espresso is fine. I've done both with my machine and there's a clear difference in taste even with using the same beans.

Oh- and there's two ways to get water- either filling up the tank or having it directly plumbed in so you don't have to fill up the tank. I have to fill up the tank, but I don't really consider it an inconvenience

I 100% agree with this statement. I am an espresso maker at home. I have found that I prefer light to medium roast for my coffee at home. The espresso coffee is really just a matter of how fine you grind the beans.

I typically make an espresso shot then add hot water (cafe Americano) as I like a bigger cup of coffee than a typically espresso.
