I'm an iced tea junkie lol and my 24 year old iced tea maker just went out. Man you can't get quality items that last anymore haha. I want to buy the best iced tea maker I can that's easy, convenient, and makes good tea. I don't care about coffee so being a coffee maker too is ok but I prefer just a tea maker. Price is not that important; just how good and easy it is to use would be a factor. I'm looking around online but thought I'd ask here too. Thanks for any suggestions.

My go to is the mr. Coffee iced tea maker, 2 quart variety. Google that and pick your favorite shopping experience and enjoy.

The old Mr. Coffee 3qt Iced Tea Makers were the best - the TM70. They don't make them anymore and I am not happy they went to the new version with a "brew basket" that goes in the top of the pitcher. However, it is easy and will do what you want. Takes about 10 minutes. We go through 3qts every 2 days between 2 of us.

I agree that the Mr Coffee 3 qt were great, easy to use. A google search show they ate still around for around $20 from Walmart. I have recently looked in store here in Cypress and only see the 2 qt. I think they might be a seasonal item. I seem to recall they put good sizes displays of them as summer approaches.

Maybe I'm alone in this but there is a lot to be said for sun tea! Gallon size glass jar, 3 family size lipton tea bags and a few hours worth of good sun, it is hard to beat during a texas summer. Growing up in south texas we drank a ton of sun tea growing up. Everybody takes their tea different but in the summer dad would set the jars out early to mid morning and bring them in in the late afternoon, those jars would get hot. He would put a cup of sugar in each jar and squeeze a few limes, then serve over ice. Diabetes in a cup but I sure wish I some now as I type this.

My mom made sun tea every other day. I'm not an iced tea drinker myself but I almost want to make some just for nostalgia.

You need a machine to put a tea bag into hot water?

Mr Coffee no longer shows them as an option. I saw that Wal-Mart showed to have them at some stores. I went to 3 of them that showed them as available and none of the stores had them. I am hoping they come back in the summer because I broke the brewing lid on mine.

You're better off just putting the tea in the refrigerator.

How, in the history of world civilization, did people exist before Serious Eats hit the scene ?

They ate food that is worse than what we are eating now. Remember those meat and veggie jello molds from the 70s?

I'm going to make a wild-ass guess that you never watched The French Chef on PBS.

Then that would be a no, because that was the name of Julia's show on PBS. Julia took classical French cooking and made it approachable and arguably better for the home cook. It's more or less the same thing that America's Test Kitchen, Milk Street, and Serious Eats do.
