Xtrema Cookware?

Does anyone here use Xtrema cookware? From what I understand, it is a 100% ceramic cookware rather than a thin layer of ceramic on top of various metals.

One big selling point seems to be that it doesn't leach anything from the pan into the food.

Currently, I use Visions cookware for nearly everything but frying and eggs. I started using Visions in the mid to late 1980's and love it.

For eggs, I have a cheap non-stick pan from Walmart. Even after four years of so, it remains non-stick and I don't even have to add any oil or butter to the pan and the eggs still don't stick. For everything else, I have a relatively inexpensive stainless steel pan.

Anyway, I'm trying to figure out whether it might be worth the effort and cost to try Xtrema cookware.

After some looking, I think it unlikely that I will try Xtrema cookware.

Although it has a very long warranty, it can break and if it does break, the company reportedly doesn't want to honor the warranty. According to some reviews, they just offer to sell you a replacement at a discount.

Also, it's apparently not any more non-stick than any other ceramic cookware. I've tried some of the less expensive ceramic cookware and it works okay for a little while, but inevitably it begins to stick badly.

Off topic: I cook my eggs on a non stick pan, mid way between over easy and over medium... put them in a bowl and cut them up. It's almost like soft boiled eggs, which I love, but take too long. No butter needed.

If nonstick is the goal you should consider carbon steel. That is all I use for eggs now and a well seasoned carbon steel pan is about as nonstick as the teflon stuff.
