I'm in need of an electric knife that makes a smooth cut when cutting meat. The last one I had looked like a chainsaw had been used.
Any suggestions?

I have a cuisinart that works well on brisket and Thanksgiving turkey. That's all I've ever used it for.

all the electric i've found use serrated blades which shred.
I ended up replacing my electric with a nice Granton slicing blade. lots of low cost options on amazon

Ha. That's me exactly. I've had mine for about 15 years. Every now and then it actually gets used twice in one year.

I stopped using mine when I got better at using a normal knife.

Well because of this thread I ordered a non electric slicing knife as a Christmas present for Mr. Diesel. He was gifted a pellet smoker this Christmas so his other gift is a Bluetooth thermometer.

I'm adding you and Mr. Diesel to my list. I will be stalking you via texags, but only to check out your progress with the smoker and electric knife. I'm hungry but harmless I promise.

Not sure what you mean by normal knife. I rarely like serrated edges for knives but for slicing a brisket or carving a turkey they are hard to beat. The electric part just makes it quicker.

I like that. I'll have to check those out. Best of both worlds.

Slicing knife was a big hit at the Diesel household. The free pellet grill gets picked up this weekend so I'm sure it's going to get a lot of use in the next few weeks but it was a huge improvement over the electric knife.
