Have anyone of you DFW folks tried Pendery's Spices (http://penderys.com/) before? Every time I make a beer run to Peticolas I pass their building and think that I should give them a try, but have just never done it. The look to have some interesting chile powders.

Yes, I frequent the one off 8th Ave. in FW. Their chili powders are excellent. I use their Terlingua Won in my chili.

I've tried several of their chili powders. Most have been excellent.

Excellent source. Great place to visit. Their founder invented chili powder. I like the Fort worth and san Antonio blends.

+1 for the Fort Worth location. Just about every spice in my kitchen is from there.

That place is near my office and it's definitely a hidden gem. Never knew why it didn't get more play on texags.

Wow. I didn't know people used peppers for thousands of years before this guy came along and invented chili powder.

I think it is the blend of ground chili and other spices.

I think he means commercially available packaged chili powders containing various peppers and spices to make the chili dish. Pendery was the first to do this in the 1800's.
