Going in April for a buddies wedding. Have had a few good bottles that my parents have gotten me over the years and have really enjoyed, but I have no idea when it comes to certain brands. Any recommendations?

Dos Artes Reserva Especial Extra Anejo. I had it in California, but cannot find it anywhere in Texas. The best sipping tequila I've ever had.
Clase Azul Reposado Tequila. Great tequila and beautiful bottle for showing off after it is gone.

Jose Cuervo La Familia is often available for a great deal. Current Total Wine price is $130. I've seen it several times under $100.
I'll be picking up a few bottles when I'm there in a few weeks.

I think we've been fortunate that a lot of items that you couldn't get 10-15 years ago in the US are now more readily available. Might get a better deal local, and there are probably some special items you can only get in a certain place. Luckily there is a very large variety of high end stuff without the travel.

It sells for about $100 American at the Mexico City Costco IIRC.

Yeah... and the plata bottle was only like $50. I've only had the reposado but i'm sure the plata is great too.

Specs downtown has it for 85. Was there last night. You are right awesome bottle! That a good deal?

Let year in PV it was $85 in duty free. But I'd def pay $100 in the US.
Mezcal is what you need to be bringing back. The good stuff doesn't get distributed here as much as the good tequila.

I've been looking into this as the I have a trip coming up in May. So far, CONVITE mezcal is one I definitely will be looking to bring home as well as Mezcal Real Minero.

Got a bottle of this for a wedding gift in October. Figured due to the pretty bottle it was probably rot gut they sell to liquored up gringos from cruise ships. Glad to hear it's actually good! I'll crack it open and make drinks this weekend.

Big disappointment in PV duty free. No Clase Azul, no Casa Dragones, no other interesting extra anejo, no mezcal that I saw. The basic Don Julio options and De La Familia Extra Anejo for $96. Only other decent option was Correlejo reposado but no price break.
Hope don't mind but wanted to high jack this thread vs creating a new....i really enjoy silver/blanco tequila and with the summer coming I am looking for recommendations for a good one. Mainly will be used with club soda and maybe a lime. Don't plan to add much more than that. I am almost done with a bottle of Patron and tried Don Julio blanco the other day and liked it. Seeing if there is something else i should consider.

Thanks! I liked the don julio blanco and had a few references for it from the "younger" people on my team at work. I wanted to post here and confirm but seems to be likely a good choice!

It's a very unique spirit. I plan to give my brother in law in Tacoma a bottle when I visit in June since he can't get it up there.
