Has anyone ever had it?

Is it worth the effort of trying to find a rabbit? Or would a chicken work?

but good point about chicken. I had rabbit and dumplings at a restaurant in new Orleans and the texture and flavor of the meat was very similar to chicken thighs.

Delicious, and yes, you need rabbit. I suppose domestic will do, but I've always used wild game. I like to pan fry in a flour/spice dry rub and then braise... the flour then thickens the braise into a more stew-like consistency.

Thank you I will see what happens with tracking down rabbit. There is a large ethnic population here, so maybe the Eastern Europe grocery may have it.

It is not something I think I would like, but cooking with him is fun. So I will support him trying these things.

Can't be any worse than his chili dog nacho creation.

We have Gerbes, which is the Midwest version of them. So I will look there.
