Take your favorite pinto recipe and add an immersion blender at the end.

This recipe has been a TexAgs favorite for a while.

I've recently been doing dried beans in a pressure cooker because you can go from dried beans to a finished product in about 2 hours.

fido's would be better suited than mine for refrieds. Liquified beans =/= good refried beans. It's all in the Manteca/bacon drippings. Now, that blender would sure make them creamy after the frying/mashing part.....

My recipe for 50 servings of refried beans would be to call my favorite bean taco joint and whip out my credit card.

Why not do charra/boraccho beans for that size crowd?

This. You'll spend more time and money trying to make retried beans that it's worth. I can't imagine that a taco joint would charge more than $30 for retried beans for 50 people.

If you are looking to mash your own refried beans, be sure that your lard and your beans are super hot before you mash them. Hot beans take less work to mash.

This was one of the best cooking tips I learned from my Mexican grandmother.
