Posted this on the Outdoors Board, but figured there's probably some people over here that know their grilling stuff too. Within the next couple of months, we are going to start construction of a large covered patio with outdoor kitchen to our home. I need to start looking at built-in gas grills and it is something I know nothing about. Any recommendations on brands or where to buy?

Looking for the exact same info. I've been looking at DCS, Blaze, Lion, Lynx, Bull, etc.

But now I'm leaning toward a Saber infrared grill. Same technology as TEC (which was an early favorite of mine but too expensive), but much lower cost. They seem to get great reviews online, although most of the reviews seem to be from online bloggers who were given a grill to test/review, or from companies selling the grills. No reviews for them on bbqguys.com.

Anyone own a Saber grill?

Hopefully I can start working on one within the next year. Here's a good thread from the HI board: http://forums.texags.com/main/forum.reply.asp?forum_id=61&topic_id=1648965

I got a Napoleon because it had great reviews, was as big as I wanted, had the features I wanted (sear area, rotisserie) and didn't cost a fortune. I've been incredibly pleased. I got this one in 2009 and have only had to replace the burners, which was painless. One burner blew out, I called the company and they overnighted me 4 new burners for free. Awesome customer service (friendly Canadian company).

I got the NG version and Tru-Lite ran the line and installed everything for me.

About 6 months ago we did an outdoor kitchen. I went with a 36" DCS grill and couldn't be more pleased. It gets very hot for searing and can cook at lower temps. The thing that set it apart for me was the weight. It was considerably heavier than other similarly wide grills. I would buy it again without a doubt. The one thing I would change would be to have a thermometer. I work around it by a desperate device and have learned the general layout of temps by the gas settings.

I also have a big green egg as part of the built in which is equally great or more so.
