Ate at Black's this past sunday for my first taste of Lockhart BBQ. I thoroughly enjoyed it. THOROUGHLY ENJOYED IT.

went to Smitty's and Blacks over the past 3 weeks. Smitty's brisket was tough and sausage was just ok. Blacks was much better.

I keep telling you, you don't get brisket at Smittys or Kreuz, you get shoulder clod, the original beef for BBQ.

The Schmidt cousins had a sign out on 71 for the future site, but it has disappeared. Not sure what is going on.

Correct, get the clod (lean) there. I just eat with a bit of salt, hot sauce, and a bite of jalapeno withsome bread.
Pork ribs on the weekend are excellent also.

I prefer luling for the brisket/ribs/sausage/sauce flight.

Blacks well they got a lot of sides if you like that stuff.

I am assuming you need to go to a butcher to get shoulder clod.

And do you cook it the same way you make a brisket?

Went to Kreuz and Blacks last week. Blacks was better and it wasn't even close. Kreuz either was having a bad day or has gone down hill. Greasy.- I mean really greasy - sausage. Bland and very fatty brisket. Not near as good as when I went a year ago. Service was bad too. Blacks had great service, atmosphere and brisket was awesome!

To follow up...we we went to blacks.....and it was arguably as good as anything I've ever had.
