You know burgers, chicken fried steak kinda place?

The decor is not cafe but if your looking for a good burger and chicken fried steak, I would go to koppe bridge.

Not many real good ones in CS. If there is one thing CS lacks, its a great food scene.

Ain't that the truth.

I was one of the students that was displaced to CS when hurricane Ike hit Galveston. The place I stayed didn't have a kitchen I could use. I ate out every meal of every day for nearly a semester. To say I was disappointed in the food in CS would be an understatement.

Hullabaloo dinner should hit the mark, though it certainly isn't a cafe.

I like CS food scene better than dfw.

Blue baker, Hullabaloo, Koppe Bridge, Fuego, Mi Concinas (breakfast tacos), Zappatos, Dudleys Draw, Chicken Oil, Excell, Sodalaks, Longhorn Tavern, Laynes, Veritas, Harvey Washbangers, Rudys, Sweet Eugenes, Must be heaven bakery, The Tap, cafe excell, la bodega, double daves (pizza rolls), Antonios pizza, Christophers, Free birds, Fitzwillys, Crazy Cajuns, Ninfas,

And then you have the bigger chains than are still good. Texas roadhouse, red lobster, olive garden, bjs, chuys, etc...

If your looking for a cafe you can always to to the kettle but I didn't think they were that good.

And you think that list is better than "DFW"?

Where is there a better burger than koppe bridge? Or a bacon egg and cheese crossiant better than blue baker? Or a grilled chicken sandwhich better than the tap?

I guess I could just say Dallas and exclude ft worth. I don't get over there too much.

There are literally dozens of places better for each of those things in dallas alone

On second thought there are enough best burger threads on here allready. I will just leave it with, I don't think there are 24 different places in Dallas that do a better burger than koppe. And ill say the same thing about blue baker.

I'm sorry but your food expectations must be very low. Our small town doesn't even come close to being comparable to the food you can find in DFW. Lived there for many years, I enjoy the slower lifestyle here but the food options is the one thing I really miss.

If I want CFS in BCS I go to Longhorn Steakhouse or Sodolak's on 21 & 6.

If I want a burger (and as far as Im concerned a burger is a burger is a burger and it's really kind of hard to **** something like that up, nor is it something I "go out for") I like Lakeside Icehouse, Chicken, and Koppe Bridge.

Hullabaloos is entirely overrated.

For "soul food", hit up Shannon's on 21 in Bryan.

Best burger I've ever had was at Ball's Hamburgers in Dallas. One of the few places you can order a medium rare hamburger. It was fantastic!

Yankees in Carlos has good burgers.

Head out to Boondocks in old Somerville Steakhouse building
