I am going to New Orleans next week for a couple of days, and would like to be able to pick up some boudin along the way. So, does anyone know of a place to pick up some boudin along I-10? I would be interested in buying some to take home.

I searched around TA and other places around the internet about places to eat in New Orleans. There were tons of suggestions, and we plan to go to as many as possible. If anyone has any other suggestions for local/family places to go it would be appreciated. As far as type of food, well, obviously cajun/creole food, and especially seafood, but others are welcome.

+1 for Duck's rec.

Also, while at Best Stop, grab a bag of fresh cracklins and some fried boudin balls for te drive to NOLA.

Bring a cooler because Best Stop sells their boudin already frozen as well. I re-load my freezer two or three times a year.

As a fellow Ag and lover of many thing things Cajun (even have one of their women),

I recommend simply stopping 2 places in the same vicinity: Don's AND The Best Stop. Get some of each of their Boudin, which are both good in different ways.

And yes, don't forget cracklins.

+1 on market basket in lake Charles. My parents live near there and I have them bring me some every time we see them. In fact, that reminds me that I'm out and need them to get me some soon!
