I am a fan of just trying different vodkas. Most of my friends can't stand the stuff, but their loss. Anyone have any recommendations? I am currently a big fan of Żubrówka.

Tito's, enchanted rock, Dripping Springs, are all great Vodkas

Hangar One Vodka. Kaffir Lime infused, especially.

I've only had Tito's from that list. Thanks for the suggestions! I will have to make a trip to specs.

I am also a fan of vodka. My favs are Stoli, Level and Grey Goose. Svedka makes a fairly good lower cost vodka.

A friend of mine told me he liked to keep his vodka in the freezer. I just started doing so, and like it.

smirnoff vodka wins awards every year. Goose is over priced crap..just like patron, your paying for the brand

I prefer Svedka to Smirnoff. New Amsterdam is now making vodka along the same price point as Smirnoff.

+1 on the Ketel One. I am not a fan of how pricey Tito's keeps getting, there pride is beginning to effect their pricing.
Monopolowa (sp?) is a great Russian potato vodka that I enjoy

I'm a huge fan of Enchanted Rock. It is Aggie owned an operated. I usually drink it on the rocks with a squeeze of lime. Or in a vodka tonic. Dripping Springs it pretty good too.

According to a guy at specs:
Two guys at titos had some conflicting ideas. one guy wanted to make it using all ingredients from Texas. Other wanted to get cheaper ingredients elsewhere. The guy who wanted all Texas left and started dripping springs.

Go get a bottle of Double Cross from spek's. Thank me later. Slovokian wheat vodka. Has won lots of awards for taste and bottle design. Very distinctive bottle. Distiller eight times. Recently added to the bar at Veritas. On the premiere list at Mortons, Flemmings, and The Palm. Also check out the Double Cross lounge in midtown Houston. You will not be disappointed.

Didn't know about Tito's giving up their Texas cred, but for a while it was my go-to brand. Plus, the Michael Jackson jokes never get old. Tito's will always have a place in my heart (and liver) for their work in bringing more distilling to Texas, which when you consider the supurb water of the Edward's Aquifer, is a no brainer.

Spec's has a hard time keeping the Double Cross Vodka in stock. Man is it good though. Far and away the best I've ever had. We've done a couple of blind vodka tastings at the house and it consistently comes out on top.

Started in NYC and now really only still in a small number of East Coast cities. I think Spec's only really has it because of the Double Cross Lounge in Houston. They've done no advertising in TX that I can tell.

(It is a way cool bottle.)

The Double Cross bottle is eye catching that's for sure. Sometimes I will get something solely because of the bottle. It sucks when the best thing is the bottle. Crystal Head Vodka is one I want to get because of the skull bottling. They've suckered me in with that.

Crystal Head is a huge ripoff. I think they simply know that people will buy it to put the bottle on the shelf. Not good vodka when stood up against others head to head.

Double Cross on the other hand is most excellent in both regards. It's all I'll drink now for the most part if I can find it.

I figured as much with Crystal Head. You never need something that gimmicky if you have a good product.

Always liked Russian Standard.

If I want to spend a bit more I buy Russian Standard. If I am just buying it to have around the house, I buy Svedka.

Hangar One (plain) is the best vodka I've ever tasted. Serve chilled, straight, without ice.

Hammer+Sickle is pretty good too.

So is Ciroc.

This, especially if you're going to flavor it with anything. I'm not a vodka fan to begin with, but when I order something that has it, I just get well vodka.

I like Chopin quite a bit.

There used to be a Polish company that made a brand called "Red Army Vodka". I never got to try it, but I have always regretted never owning the bottle at least.
