After traveling what seemed like an eternity down texas avenue, i finally stumble upon this place on the other side of bryan which i've been hearing so much about. upon arrival, i learn that it is cash only. so i high tailed it to an atm(heb cause the one at prosperity sucks), and returned to fargo's to discover this anxiously awaited, slow smoked goodness.
i decide upon the three meat plate with brisket, ribs, and sausage. with sides of potato salad and baked beans.
after what seemed like another eternity i get back home to see what all the fuss was about. i taste the sides first, both delicious. just the right amount of tang/sweet to the potato salad. the baked beans were just a tad too cinnamony for my taste, but they were still good nonetheless.
now for the real good stuff. this brisket was phenomenal! well cut, tender, not overpowered by the wood. sausage was great, but it takes a pretty gifted cook to mess up smoked sausage. and last but not least, my favorite, ribs. holy sheet, by far the best ribs i've had in texas, and only 2nd to "the bbq shop" in memphis. tender and juicy, even after a 15 min. car ride home. can't say enough good things about them.
next time you're in for a ball game, or if you live in b/cs and haven't checked out this place, do it. best bbq in the area by a mile.
p.s. if you have diabetes or even think you have diabetes, don't drink the sweet tea.
