I am a 20-year Army veteran and deeply moved by the way the Dutch inculcate and incorporate the sacrifices of the US Soldiers who fought to liberate Netherlands in WWII. The honor and love they bestow upon on our men runs deep and true. It's unfortunate other European countries we helped could care less about the contributions and sacrifices made on their behalf.

The French along the Normandy coast are very appreciative of the British, Americans and Canadians that liberated them 80 years ago.

And I visited the Netherlands this summer and the appreciation of those that liberated them is off the charts. I met an old school teacher in the Arnhem/Oosterbeek War Cemetery as he was preparing to teach students about those men buried there, in the pouring rain.
