Currently drill in a Combat Support Hospital out of Camp Bullis that has converted over to a ICW DET. My current company is standing down and UIC going away.

I'm a CPT with 9 years of Active Duty experience, foreign language and Civil Affairs training. Currently an 11A, Infantry MOS, and in grad school to become a clinical Social Worker. Airborne Qualified.

Looking for a unit in the College Station, Austin or San Antonio Area. Not opposed to traveling to different area outside of those 3 cities.

LTC in the USAR here...happy to help if I can.

I spent some time in a couple of training units that were great in terms of work/life balance as the drill schedule was very predictable and no real threat of deployment.

One is an ROTC unit where you could serve as an APMS at any school with a slot that has an ROTC program...plenty in San Antonio and Austin area if you are willing to drive a little. You do FTX's and labs with Cadets and generally are a substitute teacher during the school year. Pretty good gig.

Other opportunity is with 1-355th in Round Rock which is a Drill Sergeant training unit. They have a company in San Antonio too and do some of their training at Bullis.

I know folks in the commands at both units still if you are interested...let me know and I can send contact info or make an introduction.

I would definitely appreciate that. I don't mind drilling in San Antonio or Round Rock. Got family and lodging in both locations.

You ever consider going PSYOP? Units in Austin, Lewisville, San Marcos, San Antonio… they love former combat arms cats, and matches well with the CA background too.
