Sorry couldn't post article about the only woman awarded the MOH! Received after the Civil War. She was a contracted surgeon for the Union forces. Was captured and exchanged for a confederate surgeon. Had the medal revoked because she was a contract doctor, but was later restored.

Civilian Army Scout Billy Dixon received MOH for the Buffalo Wallow fight in the Red River Wars. Was revoked and later restored the same way.
