While the oldest Aggie I ever met was class of '05, the oldest one I ever got to know was Col. Stewart Hervey '17, a WWI vet. I've always wondered what it was like for those WWI Aggie vets as they came back to campus throughout the 20th century and read the names on the West Gate Memorial (I'm not sure it's called that anymore) or if they could put faces and names on the flags on Kyle Field.
Damn I'm old. The fish this fall are as far from my class as mine is from Col. Hervey's
