Pilot "Rain" was a FAIP when my favorite pilot was a student at Columbus AFB.

What was the point of a flyover in an enclosed stadium?

I'm guessing that P-51 had to be going near top speed the whole time while the A-10s were probably cruising and the F-16 was probably struggling to go slow enough to keep in formation and stay airborne.

My flyover success has been pretty poor. I've attended 3 football games at the USAFA in Colorado Springs and all three of them got snowed out.

Daughter went to USAFA to do a graduation flyover, and got rained out.

A P-51 can hit 500, cruise at 300. The A-10 and F-16 probably have to be doing 150 or better to be very controllable, so you're probably not far off.

To speak to your question about different planes in formation, take a gander at this flyover from Columbus AFB. T-1, T-6s, T-38s, and a Super Tucano (A-29?) doing a pass.

Notice that the T-6s are nose down, throttles to the firewall. The T-38s are nose up, going as slow as possible.

All 3 of these a/c in the pic at Columbus have cruise speed very similar. So they are
not at some stall speed for the T-38 and max out for the T-6
The A-10 and P-51 for SB all cruise at 300 plus
