Go to the USO, charge my reader, look around at all the kiddos with the latest electronic devices and realize how out of touch I am with the youth of today.

Then I'll walk over to the AVN DEFAC and talk to old friends and tell lies.

Then I'll walk by the bazaar and realize there is nothing I want to buy...

Eventually I'll find a 'sleeping tent' and stare at the gaping hole in the roof. After three hours of this, I'll return to the USO to drink coffee before I try to watch a movie sitting on the stairs.

Check on a flight an repeat for three days in Kuwait.

Is that pretty much it or did I leave something out? Who cares, I'm going home.

AAS in Kuwait is absolutely depressing. That place has gotten worse each time I've gone through there.

true but at least when you get to AAS you know your almost there, only 2-3 more days of traveling. however i've only been through shannan 1 time without my plane breaking or something going wrong. good luck and enjoy the break

Yea, pretty cool. Got here a month late and there were still slots available..so took it. Less than 6 months left after I get back.

I hear they have a Salsa night and you can wander through the PX staring at stuff you haven't seen for 6 months but don't want to buy because you will be home in the land of the big PX soon.

I mostly just slept in the movie theater, regardless of what was playing. Just camped out with my head phones on and a woobbie in one of the back chairs.

Since you are already over there, you are probably aware of this, but KEEP WARM! That place has to been one of the coldest places I have been. I know about dressing in "layers", but I started to feel like some geological formation. Oh, and stay safe and welcome back home.
