We are staying at Hyatt Hill Country resort this weekend. We were just going to stay out on the resort but thinking now we might venture out one night for a nice dinner.

Any favorite local/unique places for date nights you'd like to share? thanks!

Grey Moss Inn.

Well shoot, edit to say it may be closed.

Well darn. That place looks great. Just called and got a recording that they are indeed closed without a set reopening date. Thanks for the recommendation anyway!

Yeah that's too bad. Great food and atmosphere. I don't know much else in the area. El Chaparral is delicious texmex but not a romantic date spot.

Yeah, that place is not what it was in the 1990s.

Violas is nearby.
Not bad, but not quaint either.

Not sure what you're into but this new spot by my house is incredibly popular:

This is another option I like on South Alamo as well:

Can have dinner and then walk through King William to 1919 for a nightcap:

If you are going to south of downtown, which is not that far of a drive, Bliss is very good and something you might be looking for.

Please expand on that statement. I haven't been out there since the 90's but was planning on taking the Mrs. there Sunday for an anniversary dinner. Thanks in advance.

Little em Oyster seems to be the hip spot. Looks small and is outside. Not sure how the weather will look like.

Bliss is another good option like a poster had mention. There's Battalion which is down the road from those places. It's in a old fire fighter station.

There's the Fairmount Hotel near Battalion which they have a open bar on the roof.

There's the new Thompson Hotel in downtown with restaurants where you can oversee downtown as you eat and drink.

Thanks all! I stumbled on Bliss and found a table - glad I got a rec on it here too. I will have to hit up the oyster bar next time we are down, that looks awesome.

I thought Grey Moss has shut down? Maybe not. Took wife out there about 2 years ago. About 5 cars. It was dirty and no service. We got up and left before anyone took our order.

Apparently it has. Not surprised as I hadn't heard much about it in a long time. Wife and I went there about ten years ago and had an outstanding experience. I just thought about it due to proximity to Hyatt Hill Country.

LMFAO!!! Wow! And all I did was drink a cold Dos XX and split a burger with my wife. I must have gone before that or I am just ignorant. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Ha ha yeah a buddy and I went there late one night for a beer. I had been there with my family when it was The Luxury and we thought it was a pretty cool spot back then. My buddy and I downed our beers and GTFO! Honestly didn't even pick up on the LGBT thing but just thought it had a weird vibe. It had hookah set ups everywhere which I always think are strange so I just thought it was that. Well that and that we were just too old for the crowd. My buddy sent me that pic of that headline the next day.
