Does anyone have a trusted auto mechanic they work with in San Antonio?

Looking for someone that is a straight shooter and doesn't try to take advantage of their customers.

Thanks in advance!

Haby's Automotive in Helotes.

I can't say enough good things about him.

Have always heard good things about Haby's from other folks.

I use Cornerstone Automotive near Bitter/Blanco intersection and have always been happy.

Thank y'all for the recommendations!

Haby's is right down the road from my house so I will give them a shot!

If Haby's is unavailable, Chad Miller Auto on De Zavala and I-10 is great as well. Chad is a good dude.

Have had Haby's and Chad Miller both wrench on a vehicle. Very happy in both instances.

OP, if it is a BMW/Audi/Porsche, I will recommend German Car Specialists in SA. Have an older BMW X3 they have done work on, and also wife's VW, and have been extremely happy with each visit. Some visits have been for maintenance needs, some have been for more work than I was willing to undertake in driveway/garage.

Simple oil changes on these cars I just take there, as the turn around and service, to me, are worth the expense.

For people farther east, Larson's Automotive near Bulverde and 1604 has been great for me.

Little late to the party, but consider Certified Auto on Nova Mae. Known Tony there for over 25 years. Does what needs to be done and knows cars inside and out.

If Haby's is busy try Javier at J&C by Tractor Supply in Helotes.

My parents have used Potranco Automotive for nearly. 25 years. I even drove an old truck down there for some suspension work back in the day because they were $1000 cheaper than shops here.

I know it's not San Antonio but Hendrix in Bulverde has always been fair and trustworthy with me.

Just to add to the list of trustworthy mechanics (for those on the NE side this time)

Woody's Garage in Universal City has done me right for 30 years. Richard, the owner, has saved me thousands on repairs over the years, and even helped me make a case to Ford on a Certified Preowned warranty issue. With his help, their service dept agreed to replace some brakes and calipers under warranty. They had previously denied the claim stating brakes were wear items. At no cost to me (he wouldn't take any, even though I offered to pay him for his time) Richard made the convincing case that one caliper had seized up and was the cause of the unnatural wear. That's just one recent example of him being a credit to his profession.

I forgot about Woody's. Grew up in Universal City and had them do some work on the beater that took me through high school and college. Always fair and reasonable. Good advice on what needed to be done to get me back on the road, what could wait and what I might want to consider to avoid things becoming a lot more expensive if procrastinated on.
