I am sick and tired of DirecTVs excuses for their crappy product and features not working. Uverse not an option but my hood is wired for GVTC. Anyone have it and have good things to say abiut them?

Looks like i can get cable/net/phone for the same price i currently get satellite/internet.

You are not missing out with uverse. AT&T is trying to get everyone to switch to Direct. We just dumped uverse for TWC.

If I uverse hadn't dropped my price I was going to go twc for Internet and just cut the cord

I've used both, TWC was garbage. Uverse is better in my opinion.

I live in Selma and we had a ton of problems with Uverse . They replaced equipment numerous times and we would still lose signal. The router loses signal and then reboots itself. They kept saying it was the equipment but it was at its worst during the Super Bowl. It was rebooting every 30 minutes during the game. I am sure it was a problem with the neighborhood infrastructure which is less than 10 years old.

Finally, they jacked the price and the best deal they offered was Direct. I hate direct. From what I was told, AT&Twants to phase out uverse so they are not making any new equipment investments.

So, we did not have much choice. So far twc is ok and much cheaper. Hopefully things get better after the merger.

We had the same problem with the Super Bowl and we are in NB. We had uverse and switched to direct tv bc that's what att was pushing. We hate it. We have the same problems still with att equipment crapping out and constantly dropping our internet signal. We struggle to have wireless in our bedroom and we don't even have a big house. I can't surf the Internet on my phone while we watch Netflix even though our internet is supposed to be able to handle both-so those are the problems we have with the att/direct combo.

One uverse rep had us switched to another node in the neighborhood and it wasn't quite as bad. The twc tech told me the future is Internet based service and that was why AT&T was not upgrading their equipment.

Guys, i need reviews on GVTC not Uverse, DirwcTV or TWC. Lets keep this thread on topic please.

Sounds like from what I read online their TV service sucks because of their DVR and customer service, but they offer fiber speeds to a limited number of communities. I am jealous that some people can get fiber.

I have GVTC for internet only. 40Mbps over fiber to the house. It's great, and the price is the same as what I paid ATT for 12 Mbps.

4 people all streaming, no problem. I work from home sometimes, lots of video conferencing, no problems.

Don't buy/rent their crappy wireless router, get your own.

I have GVTC in Belterra. We have up to 1 GB/s available, but it's pricey, so we have the mid-tier TV + 500 MB/s internet for $194.50/month. All works great.

As to customer service, one benefit they're a small company with local reps. The bad part is if they're busy/out, you leave a voicemail.

I've been with GVTC for 18 months but for Internet and phone only. I get 50 down and up. Very pleased, but in interest of full disclosure, I had Dish at my previous house. I've been with Dish for 18 years for TV and very happy. Dish Internet is the last choice only if rural and nothing else available. They should be charged with false advertising on their internet claims.

I have gvtc Internet only in Boerne. 100 mbps up and down. It's great. I would look at cutting the cord and look at Internet TV options. Tons of options out there. We did it years ago and never looked back.

GVTC for cable sucks. I dumped them after 1 year.

I've never gotten a check back from them.

We live out in Bulverde and have GVTC fiber internet. It's been great for us. Rarely have any network problems. Only use OTA for TV though.

I've got GVTC for phone / cable / internet. Runs about $185 a month total. No premium channels though.

Been with them since 2008. Never had a service / signal problem.

Biggest problem with any cable provider is that if there's a particular channel you really want, you have to buy a package instead of that one channel.

I think they should pay ME to have those bloody shopping channels, though. I will watch the Spanish language ones occasionally for futbol coverage. Don't know the language but I do know the game so I can watch with the sound off.
