My sister, her hubby and their 4 kids (3 girls--10, 16 and 18 y/o--and 13 y/o boy) are coming to visit me in BCS (they are from Kentucky). We're going to stay in SA July 8 & 9 (Fri & Sat). Looking for recommendations on where to eat and free/inexpensive stuff to do. Staying near the Alamo (can't remember the hotel, but it's a couple blocks away), so prefer things within walking distance if possible.

Here's what we've got so far...
Friday--Silvers Stars vs. NY Liberty (big
WBB fans, so have to see 2
members of our NC team)
Riverwalk (looking for somewhere to
eat down here after the game if
possible)
Saturday--The Alamo
Skatepark at Lady Bird Johnson
Park
Possibly Tower of the Americas

My nephew is really into skateboarding, so if there are any other free skateparks that would be excellent. Also, looking for a good Mexican restaurant (probably Tex-Mex) or a good Texas steakhouse. The restaurants can be more expensive, but still something casual dress.

Thanks!

Breakfast at Taco Haven one day is a must. Hell now that they are open late you could just go there for every meal.

Rosarios should also fits your criteria for a Mexican food place close to downtown. it closes at 11 on Saturdays though, not sure how long WNBA games run.

Stakehouse would be Bohanans

Thanks! I'll pass those along to the rest of the family and see what they think.

As for the game, I went a couple years ago to see Morenike (Silver Stars) and Aquonesia (Monarchs) play in SA. Even though neither of them had been getting significant playing time there were about 30 people there (that stayed after to try and see them). I'd imagine there will be a lot more than that this time (coming off a NC, team is more popular in general, both Adams and SydCo are getting playing time and of course Colson's family & friends will be there!).

Edit: Me and the family (8 of us total) are sitting in section 20 (row 12 I think). If you're around, feel free to say howdy. I'll be in a white Women's Rowdies shirt. My husband will be there too. He's the current president of the Women's Rowdies and always interested in talking to fans to help expand the fan base! It's gonna be a good time.

Any other recommendations? Also, anybody have any good places to go in New Braunfels? Some of the family wants to go to Schlitterbahn, but not everybody likes waterparks.
