We have a wall that is about 18' long in our living room and have a large sectional in front of it - but still walking space between the sectional and the wall.
My wife has been searching for ways to decorate this wall and found an idea she likes. Peel and stick wallpaper in a weave/basket-grass kind of pattern. Then a long console table perhaps with lamps on either end an a piece of art in the middle.

Our walls have a light texture(orange-peel) to them. Any secrets or ideas about how to best prep a wall for the peel-and-stick wallpaper?

I think we could get away with a light sanding - certainly not all the way to the drywall. We might even, with the right textured wallpaper, get away with just sticking it on.

Are there any "primer" type thick papers to put up before putting on the wallpaper or are we stuck with a big sanding job?

Thanks

We have used that product. It sounds like you have the right pattern with a little depth because the seems are a little more noticeable than standard wall paper. You can test a section but my guess is it is going to require some light sanding. The hardest part is the corners if you are doing a full wall. Make sure you start in the middle of the wall and then trim on the outside to match the corners. People think it will be easier to start in the corner but you end up 1% off and it will cause you a problem at the other wall.
