How do people repaint these metal buildings? We have a large building that is over 50 years old that needs a good facelift. Are there people that specialize in this sort of thing? I'll post a picture so you can see the paint peeling off.

You are looking for a commercial painter. Ask your local city or county maintenance guy who they use to repaint their water tanks if all else fails.

I'm in Marshall at a similar aged facility…we repainted probably 6 years ago or so, I'll see if plant manger can check who did that work.

Have also used that opportunity to reinsulate and resheet where we had some heavy wear, but I get not needing to replace if it's otherwise in fine shape.

They do it just like a house.

I have done a few in BCS including a venue where the metal was 40+ years old

Pressure wash
Scrape and sand where needed

Rust conversion where needed

Spot prime areas where needed


2 coats of pro industrial multi surface acrylic paint


Don't have a rec for Marshall area but I can reach out to family that are there and see if they do.

Jerry Gaston did this work but it sounds like he has retired

Reach out to your local Sherwin Williams store and ask them for some contractor recommendations in that area.
