Looking for brand recommendations for a Reverse Osmosis Filtration System for our kitchen. We are remodeling our kitchen and would like to install one. Any negatives that you have experienced or things we should consider when installing one? Thanks.

I have had two of these for many years and never had a problem except my wife complaining that the bladder tank takes up too much room under the sink. There are tankless models but they use a pump which does not sound good to me.

The RO makes water that has no preservatives in it, ala rain water, etc.
Therefore in time, this TANK water gets unhealthy, even IF it flows on a regular basis

Culligan scientists know this and take care of it periodically, case by case.

My time is worth something, not to mention making more time for the golf & fun so limited now.
Docs say & friends confirm betting off blood pressure meds by getting rid of the local Aggieland sodium/minerals in our tap water, then getting the best from vege/fruits.

Stiff arm RO today, learn from tomorrow .. or others that already have.

I use Dupure for my under-sink RO system, and it's only like $200 for filter replacements once per year. They haven't said anything about replacing the tank yet.

Soften your water, skip the RO unless you have some kind of documented kidney disorder where you can't have regular water. Out of curiosity, why do you want RO?

Towns like College Station have way too much chlorine and sodium in the city water. Makes a huge difference for cooking and drinking to install an RO system. They make be at EPA safe levels but doesn't mean you need to spend your life drinking extra chlorine and sodium.

Yes, I know. But, I don't know where he lives. There is a lot of sales marketing in RO. Chlorine is removed with other means and sodium levels in BCS water aren't going to hurt a healthy adult. There may be better options. I don't like to to strip my water of everything beneficial and waste a precious resource to do it unless medically necessary. Just my opinion.

I also use an APEC system (APEC Water ROES-50). Use it for my coffee and my GE ice maker.

I have a water particle tester and this APEC system actually tested better than the bottle distilled water I was buying from HEB.

Tankless water drop from Amazon. Get the biggest one you can. Can drop well water from 300-400 tds to less than 20. Filters are easy to replace. Pre-filter lasts us about 6 month and the Ro about a year. 6 years, no issues.

I've noticed the water in Plano is less than ideal. If I'm wanting better water out of every source (Spigots, fridge, showers, faucets and sprinklers) is this something I can do from where the water heater is? I don't like the hardness or the haziness of the water. I don't like it for my grass or trees either.

I'll second what kyledr04 said. I have had a tanked system for a long time, but just installed a waterdrop tankless. It has only been 2 weeks, but I am loving it so far. Really good pressure and volume output compared to the tank system. Yeah you can hear the pump when it runs but it is pretty quiet. It has TDS displays on the faucet and the unit, all plug in so no batteries to mess with, and it takes up a lot less room under the sink in the cabinet. I hope it works over time but seems great so far.

Just installed a waterdrop x8 2 weeks ago. Wife loves it and feels she's drinking the safest water available now that she can read TDS on the dispenser and it's got lots of certifications.

We almost bought the cloud ro system but I didn't want. A tank so we went with waterdrop. There's lots of good info on other systems and testing data on YouTube.

Had a waterdrop for almost 5 years now with no problems at all. Big fan of the tankless versions because of lack of space.
