I've noticed a lot of burweed coming up in my St. Augustine lawn. It has not set burrs yet, but I need to get something on it before it does. Can something like Scott's take care of this or do i need to buy a spray? Some parts of the lawn are healthy grass, some are pretty mixed with burweed, and some areas are pretty bare with just burweed. Fairly new to lawn care, so any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure what weed you have but many plants that generate burrs are sedges. You're going to want a product like Certainty. Make sure you follow the label closely. The cooler the temps at time of application (and the following day(s)) the better to avoid stressing the St. Augustine.

I think one of the cheap 3 ways will work if I remember correctly from the last time I had bad Burweed. Just make sure it's safe for your turf.

Edit:read the info on the link below and it's got all you need. Good luck

It's Burweed. Pain in the ass and those tiny little thorns/stickers it puts out freaking hurt.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the tips! Ended up going with Nitro Phos 15-5-10 rather than Scott's. So we'll wait and see.
