Replaced some really grossed out GFCI's (two on separate circuits) in a kitchen as part of a counter top and backsplash redo. Acquired some new ones a t the local Lowe's but they won't reset to activate the circuits when the breaker is turned on. Not sure what to make of it.

I'm not sure that this is your problem, but I've noticed that the 4 terminals on the back of the GFCI receptacles (2 for the recept (line) and 2 for pass through(load) to other outlets) aren't always in the same place, even from the same receptacle manufacturer.

So, there's a chance you need to swap the (2) sets of wires, generally top to bottom, and not side to side.

It's not hooked up right. You need to follow the directions and make sure you know what the hot is on your circuit. Hots and neutrals will make these no work. That little yellow sticker over the terminals is important. I remember having the same problem with one I swapped out.

If you need someone to check it out, give me a call.

I own a local remodel company and my partner is an electrician by trade. He could swing by and check it out need be.
