What's wrong with my grass?

I'm not sure what's going on with my grass.

I've had this yellow patch pop up in the front yard. I've treated it with Scotts Disease Ex twice, but nothing happened. It actually has gotten bigger and a couple spots have popped up in the backyard also. I haven't noticed moths or anything to indicate sod web worms.

This year I started on Randy Lemon's fertilizer schedule. I've done 2 applications of Nitro-Phos 19-4-10 in late April and late June.

I haven't really been watering the lawn since its been raining so much.

Location - NW Harris County

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I see some gray leaf spot in there. Treat with granular fungicide like heritage or Scott's disease x and then reapply in 14 days.

Classic take all root rot. Spread peatmoss, or spray azoxystrobin.

As stated above you have TARR (take all root rot). Im seeing it in yards all over my area. With the rain, temperature and humidity it will explode. Per above treat with Scott's Disease x every 14 days.

I have been getting treatments every 4 weeks an it is not 100% healed even yet but its getting there.

Thanks for the replies. Should I treat the whole yard or just spot application to the affected areas?

Peatmoss is cheap. Layer it all over.

If you go chemical, for sure cover the yellow area and a good border around it and keep an eye on things. If you don't mind hitting the whole yard it won't hurt, but fungicides aren't cheap, especially if you use Azoxystrobin

What's wrong with your grass is that it's St. Augustine.

I definitely noticed some signs of gray leaf spot in parts of my yard likely due to the frequent rain this summer. The areas also look similar with yellowing blades.

Doesn't look like TARR to me - and I've had it before.

A good layer of compost will likely help quite a bit - not peat moss.

TARR is always the popular answer. I see this all the time and I've never seen fungicides do a dang thing to it, despite what A&M recommends. I've seen peat moss have occasional success.

Iron chlorosis maybe?

I had the same problem earlier this season (still fighting it a little bit after all this rain). Fungus/grey leaf is getting you. Add this stuff to your fungicide rotation:

put some iron down and see if that works. as pervious poster said, might be iron chlorosis.

we've had ton of rain this spring/summer which will also flush out nutrients from the lawn.
