I've done it twice. At my last house during Covid and then at our current house.

I would do it again.

The hardest part is clearing out the garage for several days. There is really no way around the fact that you have to empty your garage completely for at least three days.

You'd have to do that regardless if you diy or hire out though.

It's a pretty low risk project in my mind. Not much harder than painting. The most tricky part is probably broadcasting the flakes evenly.

I would recusing a high quality produce over something from a box store.

I used original color chips both times and found that it has held up well

Regardless of which you choose (diy or hire out), I can say that doing it is a great decision. Almost every time I walk in the garage I actually think about how happy I am o have that floor. It's one of the few things that doesn't seem to get old. Going out barefoot and feeling that clean floor on my feet without getting all that dusty concrete feeling is great

Or be a man and do it yourself like I did...

I used the rustoleum kit from HD. I would not recommend it if you are pulling the cars in on it. It is coming up from just my golf cart. If just storage and foot traffic, do it yourself. If cars traffic, hire it out. If you got the spare money, hire it out.

Pro tip, use a parmesan cheese shaker for the flakes. Yes, one of the green top ones at the grocery store. Works really well.
