I'm short on space in my panel and looking to use a quadplex breaker in order to accommodate two double-pole breakers within two panel spaces (as opposed to 4 panel spaces). Each double-pole will be used for separate applications and therefore I want each double-pole to trip independent of each other. Does common trip refer to both double-pole pairs tripping all together, or does it refer to the the two poles on a singe pair tripping together?

For this product, each double pole pair will trip independently of the other double pole pair.

ETA - just make sure you're wiring one circuit to the top & bottom poles, and the other circuit to the inner two poles.
