Do y'all have any idea what it would cost to bore/tunnel an 8 inch pipeline?
The city is wanting install a pressure sewer line across the front of my property, but I do not want the surface disturbed.
The length of the line would be 1167 feet.
Any estimates on boring costs would be appreciated. Thanks!

If they're in their easement, they will install it however they want. A bore that long with 8" pipe would be well over $50k IMO.

What's on the surface of the 1100 ft of the run?

Its_lu: We are currently negotiating the easement. At this point, I just wanted to know what the approximate cost would be to have the line bored under my property...Thanks!

ThePilot: I have a couple private roads and entrances on the surface as well as a few large oak trees relatively close to the proposed line. I have been told that the oak trees would have a much better chance of survival if the line is bored vs trenching.

If they want a compromise they could always just bore the sensitive areas and open cut the rest.

More. Wouldn't be surprised to see $250k.

History
1985 need to core under driveway 14ft long a less than 2-inch water line (survey or installation in wrong place).
$1000 ... in today's money = $2500
I leave it to others to project from this the additional length & pipe size/core.
Ten words or less ... a goal unattainable

Yeah, I used to be a project manager and haven't seen the prices lately. Man have they gone up just like anything else, but didn't think it would be over $200/ft

I paid centerpoint 17/ft to run approximately 200ft of whatever size gas line they run in 2020.

When i would estimate pipeline projects in the early 2010s I would estimate 5x the OD per foot. So if it were 8" I'd assume 40/ft.

I assume you are just looking for the difference to bore vs. open cut.

Sounds like the line is coming either way and you are not paying for it.
