We have a large attic space above our master and would love to open it completely up as much as possible. Is this kind of thing feasible? We would need to move some ductwork, ceiling joists and wiring but I think it is doable . Is there any way to tell from these photos? We would gussie up the exposed framing. Depending on the cost, it may well be worth it for us as this is most likely our long term home.

Anyone ever do something like this, how involved was it? I imagine I can do a lot of it myself with a rental scissor lift and a few other tools I most likely already have.

Once you have a properly designed main beam to carry rafter/joist loads, each end bearing on min. 6-studs, the rest might be considered only tedious DIY fill-in work. Your framer or lumber yard can steer you to 2.0E Parallam PSL beams whose supplier might have techs to calculate a) the beam or b) several beam components that are lighter to lift to be sistered together.

The scissor trusses option would need an on site investigation about potential truss side thrusts to counter.
There's also a site-built truss option that a Master Framer might orchestrate, thereafter could be DIY.
The non-vaulted options include "top hat"/tray, opaque skylight inserts into celing holes, shed, be they pre-fab or framed.

I might first suggest to a client that a vaulted addition might make more sense and if attached to this room or a small bedroom its window becomes a door), the BR might become an ample closet to serve it.

That A-frame area looks kinda cool. If that's all exposed, would you just not have an insulated layer? Or clad it?

So you put a stud wall in your chicken coop and are doing a major reconfiguration of your master? Victim of your own success.

When I get confidence bad stuff can happen haha. Not sure id probably get someone to do the framing stuff and then hang drywall myself. I figured I would also clad whatever framing with better looking stuff myself.

Just in exploration stage right now so not sure what the plan would be, just trying to figure out if it is feasible without breaking the bank

I think you're looking at paying out the butt. link

Reading through the steps, I'd put it on the higher side of their $15-30k estimate. Maybe more, even with some DIY.
