I replaced my kitchen floodlights that are on a dimmer with LED bulbs and now they flicker when on the brighter end of the dimmer setting.

The bulbs say dimmable and I took apart the dimmer switch and it said it was good for LED on there.

Any ideas what might be going on or what to try?

We had a problem like that and hubby replaced the dimmer switch and it fixed it.

Yeah, think I'd try a new switch. If you have an incandescent and/or CFL bulb sitting around I'd pop those in a socket or two and test if they flicker as well.

Side note: Consider using bright white bulbs instead of soft white. We use the Ecosmart Bright White's (3000K) in our kitchen and it made a noticeable difference over the soft whites (2700K).

I ended up putting in bright whites just to see if I liked the color in the kitchen better and you're right, they don't flicker. So I'm sticking with that. I like bright white better after all so win win.

We have led can lights in nearly every room in our new house and one flickers in almost every room and I have nonidea what to do to fix it. Is it as easy as a new switch in every room? It renders basically all our recessed lighting unusable and it drives my wife mad because it is something she really liked about the home.

Change out one switch and see as it fixed out problem. In some cases we had to get different LED dimmable bulbs too as the cheap ones suck.

These aren't bulbs but fixed led recessed lighting. There are at least 3 different versions throughout the house so it isn't like they bought one cheap brand and are having issues. It is just really weird that at least one light is flickering on at least 4 different sets of recessed led lighting. We didn't notice it until we moved in otherwise we would demanded it be fixed before we closed, dang it.

We did replace 2 recessed lights that were fixed because we were never happy with the light output. But that is not what you want to hear on a new home.

1960's house with recessed can lighting that we changed out to recessed LED's since a normal LED floodlight would not work properly.

Could swap to Phillips Hue recessed cans. Fixed the flickering I had.

I'm pretty sure the guy replaced these shortly before selling so I am.really hoping to not have to go that route. Sounds expensive.

Update: the brighter bulbs started to flicker. I replaced dimmer, still flickering.

Going to try different bulbs. Maybe these are crappy ones.

If you put a bulb that's flickering in a table lamp or some other socket not on a dimmer does it still flicker?

It is. I just watch a site called Woot and wait for 2 or 4 packs to show up and have been slowly swapping.

I will probably change the switches first before I go that route.

Changed all of the bulbs on that dimmer out with GE bulbs and now they're not flickering.

I think this ecosmart bulbs might not be very good. Unless these start flickering after some use.
