I had an engineer out a few years ago when I started noticing things, and he took all the measurements/assessments and concluded that I did not need anything done and everything was within spec. Well, the last 2 summers of dry weather have taken it's toll, even with me running sprinkers and soaker hoses around the foundation to keep moisture in the soil.
Doors that had been seasonal to stick are now sticking year around and will now not close at all, hairline tile cracks are now much more (fingernail width), and now the dreaded diagonal crack at one of the doors. My only hope is it's only 1 part of the house as everything seems to be around the office, which is midway down one side of the house. No visible issues on the doors or rooms adjoining it, doors close fine, etc, but my daughter's room is above and has door sticking issues and a closet door that looks to be out of plumb. Also a hairline crack that I thought was a typical seam issue due to it being straight and where a seam would be given 10' ceilings.
So, any good recommendations on who to call to get quotes from in the Houston area? I'm in Kingwood, specifically. I know Du-West and Atlas as they advertise all of the time, but am sure there are other reputable companies that do great work that don't advertise as much. Longevity is important as we plan on staying in this house until the kids are out of college (youngest is 4), so don't want a company that is new that may not be here in 10 years if needed.
Edit: All of the plumbing is on the perimeter of the house, and not near the office, so doubt it's a leak causing it.
